For the purpose of managing Catholic Creche, Nursery, Primary, Post-Primary Schools and Higher Institutions in the Calabar Archdiocese, there is hereby established a body known as the Catholic Schools Board.

Our Vision
1. To be a world-class, outstanding, regulatory and intervention Board for the promotion of uniform, qualitative and functional education system that is safe and sound;
2. To ensure that all Roman Catholic Schools attain the highest level of academic performance, which will help to produce skills to enhance fulfilling personal lives and careers that will contribute to civic and economic progress in our diverse and changing society.
3. To raise youths that are intellectually sound, God fearing, skilled entrepreneurs and patriotic leaders and citizens for tomorrow.
4. To bring all men to light and knowledge of truth and prepare all for a better human society and everlasting kingdom.
1. To operate as an intervention, coordinating and monitoring body to progressively improve the capacity of Catholic Schools in the provision of high qualitative education.
2. To create strong, effective schools that provide a wholesome learning environment through incentives that cause a high standard of student accomplishment as measured by a valid, reliable accountability system.
3. To impart qualitative education that will ensure a holistic development and formation of the child through spiritual, psychological, academics, moral and physiological instructions in the system.
4. To formulate guidelines and policies in line with the Federal Ministry of Education while retaining and promoting Catholic identity in all Catholic Schools.
5. To teach all mankind for the sake of Christ so as to bring about the light of freedom, love and responsibility in the world.
The early Catholic Missionaries came from Europe to Calabar in 1903 with the aim of evangelizing the people of the Calabar region and establishing the faith in the land. The Missionaries led by Fr. Lejeune came with three aims in mind to enable them to achieve their goal. The aims included:
a. to build the Church and inculcate the Catholic faith,
b. to build Schools and educate the people
c. to build hospitals and offer health care services.
